David A. Beaver is a Partner at SeidenFreed LLC. He is admitted to the bar in the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He appreciates that a divorce can be one of the most difficult periods in a client’s life and provides compassionate representation by assisting clients to identify and prioritize the issues that are most important to their cases. He also understands that clear and concise counsel is necessary to obtain a resolution that meets each client’s individual needs.
David’s practice is devoted solely to family law, and he appears regularly before the Family Part in Mercer, Middlesex, Hunterdon, Somerset, and Burlington counties. David is an advocate for reaching amicable resolutions to family law disputes because he understands the importance for clients to have control over the resolution of their case and is trained in alternative dispute resolution methods such as collaborative divorce. However, he understands that litigation is sometimes the only option, and has significant courtroom and litigation experience arguing a wide range of family law issues, such as the equitable distribution and division of corporate benefits (stock units, stock options, and other highly compensated employee awards). David also has extensive experience with alimony awards, cohabitation, modification of support awards, and a variety of custody related issues.
He regularly serves as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist for the Matrimonial Early Settlement Program in Mercer County and Burlington County. The Matrimonial Early Settlement Program is a program used by the courts to help divorcing couples reach an agreement on the economic terms of their divorce instead of going to trial. Panelists are selected by the Presiding Judge of the Family Part in each county and make recommendations on how equitable distribution, child support and alimony should be resolved after reviewing the facts presented in each case. Panelists must be experienced family law attorneys.
David was an active member of the New Jersey Association for Justice from 2008 to 2015 and served as the co-chair for the New Jersey Association for Justice Boardwalk Support Staff Seminar. He has also lectured on the topics of alimony and cohabitation for the New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Bar Convention.
David was selected for inclusion as a New Jersey “Rising Star” by the New Jersey Super Lawyer Magazine between 2014 and 2016. The Rising Star list is issued by Thomson Reuters. A description of the selection methodology can be found here. No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
David graduated from Rutgers School of Law-Camden in 2006 and Rowan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 2003. After graduating law school, David served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michele M. Fox, J.S.C. of the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part in Camden County.
At the conclusion of his judicial clerkship, David joined a large local law firm. During his tenure with the firm, David exclusively practiced family law. David gained substantial experience in all areas of the family law practice, including representing high net worth individuals, alimony, child support, equitable distribution, prenuptial agreement drafting, custody and adoption proceedings.
David resides in Mercer County, New Jersey with his wife and their two daughters. His outside interests involve spending time with his family, golf, and passionately following Philadelphia sports.
